The East-Holland family is partnering with the Little Blue House at the University of Tulsa to honor the memory of Jim East with a new garden at the corner of 5th Street and Evanston Avenue. The Little Blue House sponsors student groups that stand for values Jim practiced across his life and career: equality, peacekeeping, and respect for different beliefs and walks of life. A prominent corner on campus, this garden and memorial bench will long serve as a meeting place for TU students to gather, rest, and make new friends—an apt tribute to a civil servant, advisor, and community leader known for making friends everywhere he went.
Your contribution will help us create this garden through lawn repair, tree pruning, installation of a sprinkler system, and new beds. To celebrate the 34-year marriage between Jim and Kim, we plan to call the garden the East Holland Peace Garden. Little Blue House is a 501(c)3, so all contributions to the East Holland garden fund will be tax deductible. Thank you for helping us honor Jim’s friendliness and generosity of spirit in a form that will continue to benefit tomorrow’s leaders for generations to come.
